What Time Is It?!?!?!
During the week, my alarm goes off every morning at 6:30 a.m. This morning the alarm went off, and as usual, Josh and I turned on the TV to watch the news. But this morning, the news wasn’t on… It was “Good Morning America” and the time displayed in the bottom right hand corner of the screen wasn’t 6:30; It was 7:30!
My groggy reaction was the following…
“Why is Good Morning America on?...”
“Why does it say 7:30?....”
“The alarm clock says 6:30!”
“I thought Daylight Saving Time was next weekend!”
“Why time is it?!?!?!?!”
“I’m so confused!!!!”
I finally went down stairs and realized that all the other clocks in the house also said 7:30. We’re supposed to be at work at 8:00am! Oops!
If you haven’t guessed it by now, we have one of those “Smart Alarm Clocks.” Ya know, the ones that always know what time it is. Even if the power goes off, when it comes back on, it will know what time it is supposed to be. Don’t ask me how it works, I have no clue. Unfortunately the government changed the date of daylight savings time and my clock was made like 5 years ago. It has preset times during the year daylight saving time. Since I don’t bother looking at the alarm clock on the weekend, I didn’t notice it moved an hour backwards Saturday night. :P
Monday’s already suck, but waking up late and utterly confused made it a bit worse :P

This weekend, I went to my first ever, Halloween Party. Hosted by my good friends Tonto and The Lone Ranger (aka – Kris and Louie).
Since we all met through my step-dad’s Public Enemies blog, everyone was to dress up like characters from Johnny Depp movies. Since I love Mrs. Lovett from Sweeney Todd I went as her. I even brought pies and my cockroach infested rolling-pin. We had good food, good music <3, and played fun games! Here are some pics…
Here is my as Mrs. Lovett
Here's the pies I brought.
Rod & DJ
Josh & Vicky
Kathy, Rick, Caralea, Shawn, and Josh
Evan & DJ
Louie connived me into eating a gummy eyeball that was floating in the punch. Needless to say, it was disgusting. It had the perfect eyeball texture. I could seriously imagine that I was eating a real eyeball! :P (The following pics are courtesy of Vicky's camera.
Louie went first
Then me...
I think that is when the eyeball texture hit me.
Then Vicky tried.
She didn't like the eyeball texture either!

McCain Defends Obama, Gets Booed - 'He's an Arab'
Thank you John McCain!
So many of McCain's supporters seemed to be disillusioned that Obama is a terrorist, an arab, or a Muslim. I've found that a lot of McCain's supporters are also very racist. Yelling out racist slurs at rally's and also saying things like "kill him" etc. McCain has finally spoken up and said something.
I can't believe people in our country are so stupid... Ok, yes I can, I've just been trying to ignore it.
Although I will not be voting for McCain, I am very proud of him for standing up to his supporters. I think he is a swell guy and a great American hero.

Halloween is coming and Josh has been busy decorating our house for the occasion. Last year we got 174 trick-or-treaters. It was awesome! I love looking at all the kid’s costumes as they come around. As usual Josh will be dressed in his finest Gorilla Costume and this year I’ve decided to dress up too. Usually I just sit on the steps and watch.
Since I absolutely loved Sweeney Todd, I’ll be going as Mrs. Lovett this year. I found a costume at Shopko that looks a lot like something she would wear. I am thinking about making some fake pies with fingers poking out of them, but not sure what to make them out of. Anyone have any ideas? I was thinking of using Super Sculpey…
This year we're giving out mini Play-Doh to all the kids. It's not that we don't like candy; we just figured we'd do something a little different. We found them at Walmart in packs of 20 for $5. They are all different colors!

Does anyone have a snow blower they don’t want anymore? Ours was ruined in the flood this past June and we’re looking for another one (5 HP – 2 Stage). We can’t afford a new one, so we’ve been looking on craigslist and ebay. We’ve found a few on craigslist, but by the time we call the seller, they’ve already been sold. All the other ones are too expensive or we’ve been outbid :P. So keep your eyes peeled for us! :)

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Sarah Palin Debate Flow Chart

I really wanted to shy away from talking about politics after my Sarah Palin posts, but my friend Jen showed me this today and I had to post it here.

I hate new cashiers :P

As many of you know. I am a very loyal customer of Taco Bell and have been for the past 20 years. So today after work Josh took me there for dinner (this is not an unusual event).
When we went in, I immediately noticed the new cashier at the counter. I went up to the front and first ordered a Tostada. Which is a flat hard tortilla shell topped with beans, sauce, lettuce, and cheese.
The cashier spent about 20 seconds trying to find it on her touch-screen cash register. Then she asks, "Do you want that with beef, chicken, or steak?"
I was taken aback a little bit and then tried to explain to her what exactly a tostada was. She looks around for a fellow co-worker, but seems too shy or stubborn to ask. She then goes back to looking through her register. She finally finds it and I go on to my next item...
Me: "I'll have a grilled steak taco..."
Cashier: "Do you want that with nacho cheese, sour cream, or baja style?"
This is also a new question for me since a steak taco is strictly steak, a yummy lime sauce, lettuce, tomato, and cheese in a soft shell tortilla.
I say again... "A GRILLED STEAK TACO???"
She stares at my blankly and says, "yes."
Then I try to explain to her what a grilled steak taco is. She then replies, "So you want that baja style?"
By this time I give up!
When our food comes. The tostada is there, but the grilled steak taco somehow got transposed into a Baja Steak Gordita.
Luckily, when Josh goes up to the counter, there is a super nice taco bell guy there. He makes me a grilled steak taco, gives us our money back since the gordita was twice as much as my taco should have been.
The funny thing is that even though the new cashier didn't know what she was doing. She just kept punching in wrong orders.
After we sat down 4 more customers had they're orders all screwed up and the nice man at the counter had to go around fixing all of them. Trying to figure out what people really ordered, opposed to what the stupid cashier punched in.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure cashiering can be very confusing at a new job, but they could at least have someone stand there with her until she learns the ropes.
I'm not mad or anything. I just felt stupid trying to explain the menu to a taco bell cashier.
Hopefully I won't get her again. Or maybe she will have learned the menu next time I see her :P
